Breast Cancer Management

Breast cancer management has different approaches that depend on the physical and biological characteristics of the disease, age, overall health and personal preferences of the patient. There are 2 types of treatment classified as local therapy (surgery and radiotherapy) and systemic therapy (chemotherapy, endocrine therapy and targeted therapy). The mainstay of breast cancer treatment is surgery for local and regional tumors, followed by a combination of radiation, radiotherapy, endocrine therapy and targeted therapy.
